Samantha Thompson is a multidisciplinary artist and regional arts advocate based in Golden Plains Shire, Victoria, Australia. Her practice operates at the intersection of contemporary art and craft, with a sustained focus on printmaking. Full bio below

Big and bold define these paper works, and yet these monoprints show intimacy in their subtle texture and colour variations. The works are produced as a response to my research in play, and in particular, how as adults we view and interact with play based concepts. Many have suggested and been disproven that art making is an extension of play, that in art, adults have a socially acceptable way in which to play, roleplay and experiment. . In this work I reimage a world where adults are encouraged to play, interact in a space, and learn.

Handcarved and printed in the Victorian studio, these letters can be used in a variety of ways and made a unique and affordable gift.
Hand printed on Somerset cotton Professional Printmaking paper, soft and beautiful paper made for relief printing, using AKUA inks (oil printmaking paint made of Linseed oil and pigment)
The letters are made to be versatile - You can spell out a name or initials and frame them as a gift. You can use them in Journels, as wall decor and another way you can think of! The paper size is larger, so that you have the flexibility of leaving them large or trimming them down. You decide.

Print size is variable depending on the width of the letter however they are all 15cms high, as to line up.
