Join us to learn the basics of reduction linocut!

A reduction linocut is a relief printing method where a single block is progressively carved and printed to create muti-coloured, layered images, ultimately destroying the block in the process. Artists print the lightest colour first, then carve away more lino for subsequent, darker colours, requiring the entire edition to be produced in one session.

At this workshop you will learn-

  • Process and brief history

  • How to prepare your image

  • Image transfer onto a plate (15 × 15cms Lino)

  • Set up registration system (Ternes -Burton registration system)

  • 3 colour plus white reduction

  • Final printed work

Everyone leaves with a finished piece and a couple of beautiful prints to take home.

What’s included:

All materials (ink, linocut, tools, and high-quality printmaking paper)

Use of a large professional press

Expert guidance and plenty of encouragement

Small and personal – max 5 participants (minimum 2 to run).
